Additional Order Statuses

Write a review
Removes CS-Cart's built-in cap on custom order, shipment, and return (RMA) statuses, so you can add new statuses into the hundreds. Works with the native status manager — colours, email notifications and inventory rules all still apply. No settings screen, no slowdown, safe to uninstall.

Additional Order Statuses add-on for CS-Cart

Remove CS-Cart’s cap on custom order, shipment, and return statuses

Out of the box, CS-Cart only lets you create a small number of custom order statuses on top of the built-in ones (Processed, Complete, Open, Failed, Declined, Backordered, Cancelled). Once you add a handful of your own, the “Add status” button stops working — a hard cap built into the platform that quickly becomes a problem for any store that wants to model its real workflow.

Additional Order Statuses removes that cap. After installing it, you can keep adding new order, shipment, and return (RMA) statuses well into the hundreds instead of being stuck at the original limit. Everything else about how statuses behave stays the same — you simply get more room to work with. It is the simplest possible fix: install it, and the limit is gone. Works on CS-Cart Store Builder and Multi-Vendor, single or multiple storefronts.

Key Features

  • No More Status Cap — removes the built-in limit on how many order statuses you can create
  • Shipment Statuses Too — the same expanded room for shipment statuses
  • Return (RMA) Statuses Too — the same expanded room for return statuses
  • Uses the Native Manager — works with CS-Cart’s existing status screens, so there is no new interface to learn
  • Full Status Options — new statuses still support colours, email notifications, inventory rules, and every standard option
  • “Add status” Keeps Working — the button keeps appearing as long as there is room, and now there is plenty
  • Lightweight — no extra settings pages, no background jobs, no slowdown
  • Safe to Uninstall — your existing statuses and orders stay intact if you ever remove it
  • Multi-Vendor Ready — ideal for marketplaces where each vendor and carrier needs its own clear steps

How It Works

  1. The admin installs and turns on the addon from the Add-ons page
  2. The addon quietly expands the storage room CS-Cart uses to hold status codes, so the platform stops running out of identifiers
  3. The admin goes to Orders → Order statuses (or Shipment statuses / Return statuses) as usual
  4. The “Add status” button keeps working past the point where it would normally stop — create as many statuses as the business needs
  5. For each new status, the admin sets the name, colour, notification settings, and inventory behaviour, just like a built-in status
  6. Staff and vendors assign the new statuses to orders, shipments, and returns from the order screen or with bulk actions
  7. Customers receive the usual status-change emails (when enabled per status), so the extra detail is visible to them too

Typical Uses

  • Multi-vendor marketplaces — show each vendor’s shipping stage separately
  • In-house warehouses — statuses for picking, packing, QC, and dispatch
  • Multiple carriers — different statuses for each carrier’s pickup and delivery events
  • Returns teams — sub-stages like “Return received”, “Inspecting”, “Refund approved”, “Refund issued”

Requirements

  • CS-Cart Store Builder or Multi-Vendor (single or multiple storefronts) 4.6.3 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher (tested up to PHP 8.3)

Installation

  1. Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click Manual installation, and upload the addon zip file
  2. Activate the addon and enter the license key
  3. That’s it — go to Orders > Order statuses (or Shipment / Return statuses) and keep adding statuses past the old limit. There is nothing to configure on the addon itself

Configuration Options

There is no separate settings screen — the addon works the moment it is turned on. You manage statuses in the standard CS-Cart screens:

WhereWhat to do
Order statusesOrders → Order statuses — click + to add a status, set name, colour, notifications, inventory and totals behaviour, then save
Shipment statusesOrders → Shipments → Shipment statuses tab — add new entries the same way
Return statusesCustomers → Return requests → Return statuses — add new entries the same way

Tip: use clear, customer-friendly names and colour coding so staff can scan the order list at a glance. In Multi-Vendor, statuses are shared across the marketplace, so plan names that make sense for every vendor.
