Advanced City Management add-on for CS-Cart

Give your store a real city dropdown at checkout instead of a free-text field

Advanced City Management is a full replacement for the built-in Cities add-on bundled with CS-Cart. Build and maintain your own list of cities, link each one to a country and a state, and attach one or more postal (ZIP) codes to it. City names are stored in every language your store supports, so shoppers always see the right name.

Once your cities are set up, customers see a real city dropdown at checkout and in their address book. They pick a country and state, the city list filters to match, and they can even type a ZIP code to have the matching city, state and country filled in automatically. Works on CS-Cart Store Builder and Multi-Vendor, single or multiple storefronts. Build the list one city at a time or import thousands at once from a CSV file.

How It Works

1. Install the add-on and disable the default “Cities” add-on — only one of the two can be active at a time
2. Open the new Cities page and pick the country and state you want to work on
3. Add cities one by one with their postal codes, or bulk-load them from a CSV file
4. At checkout (or when a customer signs up or edits an address) the shopper picks a country and state
5. The city field instantly becomes a dropdown showing only the cities you added for that state
6. If the shopper knows their postal code, they type it in the ZIP field and pick a suggestion to fill country, state, city and ZIP at once
7. The order is saved with clean, consistent city data, making shipping rates, tax rules and reports more reliable

Requirements

• CS-Cart Store Builder or Multi-Vendor (single or multiple storefronts) 4.6.3 or higher
• PHP 7.4 or higher (tested up to PHP 8.3)
• The default “Cities” add-on must be disabled before this add-on can be used

Installation

1. Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click Manual installation, and upload the addon zip file
2. Activate the addon and enter the license key
3. If the default Cities add-on is active, disable it first under Manage add-ons — Advanced City Management will not enable while it is on
4. Go to Shipping & taxes > Cities (on Multi-Vendor this lives under the Administration shipping menu), pick a country and state, and start adding cities

Configuration Options

The add-on needs no special settings to start working — everything happens on the Cities management page.
